CIRCOR - Critical Chain implementation on the new product development projects

The Circor's facility at Plessis-Trévise, near Paris, has transformed its project performance, particularly in terms of time savings and meeting deadlines, thanks to the application of Critical Chain Project Management

Frédéric Grehal, General Manager at Circor Aerospace & Defense, testifies to the implementation of Project Management by the Critical Chain, on the Plessis-Trévise site with the help of Marris Consulting and shares the benefits and results obtained.

Following the Covid-19 health crisis, using the Critical Chain method to bring back under control projects that had fallen behind seemed obvious.

As with any new method, the implementation of the Critical Chain required meeting several challenges: aligning all employees, and investing the necessary time, means and resources.

Marris Consulting intervenes throughout the deployment: firstly, an educational phase of training, in the method and in the new tools, then the support of the teams in the concrete implementation, i.e. scheduling the projects, updating the project plans and indicators, including the Fever Chart, and finally in the coaching of the key players in the project flow and the monitoring of potential drifts and the associated action plans.

Thanks to the Critical Chain, the site was able, on its new product development projects, to meet its deadlines and better anticipate problems; there was a renewed motivation of the teams, etc.

The current challenge is now to perpetuate the use of the method, and this notably involves the integration of the concepts at all levels, in training, integration courses and processes.
